Author: Nerdy Nan

Hi, I'm Nerdy Nan. I'm a 62-year-old grandmother of two, a keen traveller, and someone who has never lost the habit of asking, "But how does that actually work?" Over the years I've studied everything from science and psychology to architecture and research methods (I did warn you I was nerdy). Along the way I noticed something: the health information we need most as we get older is often buried under jargon, rushed through in a ten-minute appointment, or delivered in a tone that suggests we should already know it. That's why I started Nerdy Nan. Each week I take one topic that matters to people over 55 (sleep, brain health, staying strong and mobile, managing long-term conditions, eating well for an ageing body) and explain it in plain English: what the research actually says, what it means for everyday life, and what you might try next. No lectures. No talking down. No miracle cures. Just clear, trustworthy information, shared the way a curious friend would over a cup of tea. If you've ever left the doctor's office with more questions than answers, you're in the right place. Pull up a chair. I'm glad you're here.
